Know Before You Go- CAIC
The Colorado Avalanche Information Center (CAIC) is a program within the Colorado Department of Natural Resources, Executive Director’s Office. The program is a partnership between the Department of Natural Resources (DNR), Department of Transportation (CDOT), and the Friends of the CAIC (FoCAIC) a 501c3 group. The mission of the CAIC is to provide avalanche information, education and promote research for the protection of life, property and the enhancement of the state’s economy.

Cancellations can be made up to 24 hours before the rental pick up time for a full refund. The equivalent of a one day rental will be charged for late cancellations or no shows.

A damage deposit will be held for all equipment rentals. The amount is placed as a hold on your credit card and is for the replacement cost of the item. The renter assumes full responsibility for any damages, loss, or replacement of the equipment during the rental period. The repair of core shots and other ski damages are billed at regular shop hours. Equipment must be returned clean and dry.
